Visited Hillbilly's Wendesday July 23, for lunch. I ordered the large rib plate. Service was fast and friendly. I was served hushpuppies and BBQ sauce first. When my server brought out the rib plate with home style steak fries, and slaw my jaw dropped. These were real pit cooked ribs. I almost took a picture of that beautiful presentation to make my friends in Atlanta jealous. Great pit cooked BBQ, with an adequate menu, I am going to try the sausage and peppers on my next visit.

Me and my wife had the Steak Combo, hers with ribs and mine with the chicken. Excellent taste and size portions. Service was outstanding! Never had to ask for anything and the beverages were never empty. This was on a Saturday night. I think they could present the salad bar better by moving it out into the open, instead of being shoved up against a closed off wall. The only thing I could complain about, the meat was a little on the salty side. But overall, the best service we ever had and the food was really good.

This is a warm place to eat on a chilly winter day. The heat from the kitchen keeps the dining area warm. The smell of woodfire is intoxicating and reminds me of my grandmother's woodstove. The prices are very reasonable and the service is fast.

Fantastic food! Everything is smoked on a huge bar-b-que pit, you get hungry just walking in the door. Great example of NC bar-b-que and all the fixings.
